Be able to selectively route traffic from devices behind the OPNsense firewall through either my regular ISP.or. the OpenVPN server to the internet. In other words, I want to be able to have my traffic come from either my real IP address (the one provided by my ISP) OR from the IP. Setup pfSense as an OpenVPN client for specific devices Background UPDATE – 20141101 – Based on trying to help a redditor with trouble shooting, I actually tried this out on my backup router. I’ve updated the post. UPDATE – 20141103 – Added a note for those using pfSense 2.2 Betas. There is a bug that prevents this from working.

Setup OpenVPN client from full inline config?
I've been trying to setup openvpn on pfsense with no luck. I've been looking for guides that involve VPNs using a full inline config (my VPN provider uses them), but have not been met with success.
I've tried a couple different things, putting the different parts into different fields, but I seem to be missing something. I've created a CA, used the <cert> for the certificate field, both with and without the <key> section in the cert private key field. I created a certificate using both the <ca> data and data w/ info in the cert data field, and used the <key> in the private key field. In the client config, I've used the <tls-auth>, and added the config options in the custom options field where the GUI didn't have configuration options for them.
Does anything about what I've described seem wrong to you? Any guides using a config w/o username and password?
I have contacted my VPN provider, but figured it would also be worth asking here.
when i say 'full inline config', i mean one in the following general layout:
